We try to always have the following snacks:

There's always tap water and boiling water.

You're welcome to bring your own food and drink if you want (but no alcohol). There is a microwave and an oven to heat things up.

We try to keep all snacks separate but they do sometimes come into contact, and there are sometimes nuts. If you have allergies, feel free to get in touch and we'll see what we can do to help.
Activities and services
Every week there's at least one activity, and there are often also visiting services.
Activities include things like arts and crafts, discussions, films, skill shares, workshops, and so on.
The activity is always optional: you're welcome to just sit and chat or occupy yourself while the activity is happening. Often it's possible for people who are doing the activity and people who aren't doing it to sit and talk together while the activity is going on, though for some activities this isn't possible. Anyone is free to stop doing the activity at any point. Activities are intended to be easy and low-pressure.

Often the activity is the sort of thing you can start at any time, so it doesn't matter too much what time you arrive. Sometimes activities are more structured and it may be a bit harder to join in if you arrive after the beginning (though we will still always try to include people who come later if they want). If an activity is going to be time-specific in this way, we try to make that clear on our social media in advance.

Services are things like simple haircuts, clothes swaps, sexual health testing and advice, help with mending clothes, and so on. These are generally available from about 6:30 / 7:00 pm and continue until near the end of the session. Some take place in the main space but more private services like sexual health are in a smaller meeting room.
Sober space
Outside In is a sober space. That means no alcohol or drugs in the building and we ask you not to be under the influence when you're there.
LGBTIQ+ and friends
If you're queer, trans, or intersex, this space is for you. You're welcome to bring friends or relatives who aren't, as long as you trust them to be respectful and sensitive.

Try not to make assumptions about the gender, sexuality, or pronouns of people you meet at Outside In. Stickers are available if you want to wear one to help other people know your pronouns without asking but this is optional.

You don't have to live in Camden or have any particular connection to the area, or to the Outside Project or the Black Cap, to come to Outside In.
All ages 18+
Outside In is for adults of all ages. We believe it's valuable for different generations in our communities to meet and learn from each other.
For safeguarding reasons it's an 18+ space.
Everything is free
It's free to come to Outside In and there's no charge for any of the activities, visiting services, food, drink, wifi, or anything else.
Want to collaborate?
We're keen to make connections and work together with people and grassroots groups doing good work, especially in and around Camden. If you'd like to lead an activity or workshop that you think would work well at Outside In, you have a service you can offer in the space, or you have another idea how we could collaborate, please get in touch!
Bringing animals
Pets and other animals, except for assistance animals, aren't allowed in the building.
Financial information
Outside In is funded by a grant from the National Lottery's Awards For All scheme.

We pay some of our collaborators and visiting services; others kindly work with us on a voluntary basis (with or without expenses).

We're working on publishing a breakdown of our spending (following the example of the White Pube as discussed at a Backend x London event that Pear attended).
